Play Increases the Brain’s Capacity

“. . . it changes our feelings, thoughts, and actions and rewires our brain to function better in all contexts."

InterPlay

What is InterPlay?

InterPlay is an active, creative way to unlock the wisdom of the body; it was also the creative system Carolyn Renée used to create PoPUpZ now a popular wellness playgroup that meets Friday mornings.

In her own words, “As a former HR professional, providing resources like grief counseling to employees was just part of my job. After a devasting loss of a key tenured worker, I set up grief counseling for dozens of employees and had not handled my own grief in the process. The next day I was invited to an InterPlay session and ironically they were playing with the Day of the Dead (DOD), as it was November when DOD is traditionally observed. Using one of the InterPlay forms Dance on Behalf Off (DOBO), I got what was needed to address my grief and I also understood the power of InterPlay! Since then I have created InterPlay workshops and series for the homeless community, for youth and elders, and workshops to purely play. I now use InterPlay to convene groups all over the world through PoPUpZ! PoPUpZ (Power of Play Upliftment Portal on Zoom) was created to encourage more play in the world! As a recovering serious person and a black woman overcoming trauma, playing has offered me immense joy and healing.

Support InterPlay in bringing more play to the world.

Play-4-Longevity

Through InterPlay Carolyn Renée discovered a vessel to channel her love of singing, storytelling, moving, and creative writing; and her art activism. She has come to understand through research how InterPlay calms the central nervous system. Dr. Andrew Huberman, a tenured professor of neurobiology and ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine breaks down the neurobiology of play.

PoPUpZ

Discovering that play increases longevity, PoPUpZ is offered as a workshop to community groups, seniors, schools, and churches all over the nation to promote longevity through Interplaying. As a recovering serious person and a black woman overcoming trauma, becoming a Certified InterPlay Leader has offered her immense joy and allowed her to share that joy with others.
